Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium reached out to MBI around 1998 to do the below-grade waterproofing to the Desert Dome. From there, MBI was brought in to develop a specialized solution to prevent moisture damage to the interior of the Desert Dome. MBI focused on protecting the pedestrian walkways and ductwork. On another occasion, Omaha’s Zoo needed help to line the floor of the Gorilla cages. The key challenge was ensuring any changes made would be suitable for the pads of the Gorillas’ hands and feet. MBI executed a solution beneficial for the Gorilla’s and solved the issue of sealing the concrete from any damage.
